Sapiosexual: One who is attracted to or aroused by intelligence in others.
What non-physical qualities are most attractive to you? I’m not just talking about sexual attraction. In general, what qualities do you notice in others that draw you in and attract you to that person?
I like people who are different, who somehow don’t quite fit in. I’ve always been a misfit toy myself.
I wouldn’t quite say I’m a sapiosexual, but the people I’m attracted to tend to be on some level of nerdiness/geekery. Most of the guys I’ve dated have at one point been really into comic books, haha.
I notice people’s style.
I am attracted to people who have a strong relationship with words — I’m very much a “If you go home with them and they don’t have books, do not sleep with them” type.
I’m attracted to people who care about things and openly show that–people’s passions are awesome and definitely a thing I notice.
I am attracted to people who feel their feelings, who are willing to do the work it requires to be introspective and vulnerable and to speak that vulnerability. I strive towards openness and honesty in all of my relationships, romantic/sexual or otherwise, and I am attracted towards people who are on that same level with me.
I am attracted to people who support the people they’re close to in whatever ways they can. I’m attracted to people who are good listeners.
I am attracted to people who are open-minded and who endeavor to learn things constantly. I’m attracted to thinkers.
I am attracted to activism on any level, to people who want to speak truth to power and buck (parts of) the system.
I like people who curse in the course of their regular dialogue, can talk openly about taboo subjects like sex or mental health, and are generally not here for respectability politics.
I am attracted to people with drive…not necessarily ambition, because ambition is too often just a fancy word for greed, but to people who have dreams they want to accomplish. I am attracted to people who want to make things better for themselves and for other people.
Also my knees go weak for spoken word artists and singers. Artistry, generally.
